When you encounter a virtualized application in App-V 5 that will not start and as a result the error: 0xFD01F25-0x7B, follow the steps below to solve this problem.

Extra error message in the event viewer, in the Debug log of the Subsystems VFS;
“Failed to get long path from ‘\?\’. Error code: 0xFD01F25-0x7B”

Solution:
Within the VFS any folder containing only a desktop.ini file and also delete anything that is a “Library”.
