SYMPTOMS:
(KB931118) When you refresh a Desktop Configuration Server in the Microsoft SoftGrid Client Management Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client failed to download MIME information from Server.
The server will not allow a connection without valid BASIC credentials. Please repot the following
error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx07-000DF002
CAUSE:
This problem occurs because one of the following conditions is true:
* The Provider Policy is configured for Basic Authentication.
When the SoftGrid Client refreshes against the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server (SGVAS), the
SGVAS determines which server groups the SGVAS is added to. Then, the SGVAS determines which
Provider Policies are assigned to the server groups. If the Authentication of Provider Pipeline
for the Provider Policy is configured for Basic Authentication, the refresh process does not work.
* The Provider Policy is configured for Anonymous Authentication, and the anonymous user who is
specified is misconfigured. For example, one of the following conditions is true:
o The account is disabled.
o The account is locked out.
o The account has expired.
o The account is configured to use the User must change password at next logon setting.
o The account password is entered incorrectly on the Provider Pipeline tab of the Provider
Policy.
To verify the anonymous user, follow these steps:
1. Open the SoftGrid Client Management MMC snap-in, and then connect to the SoftGrid
Management Web Service.
2. Expand SoftGrid Systems, expand ServerName, and then expand Provider Policies.
3. Open the Properties dialog box of the Default Provider provider.
4. Click the Provider Pipeline tab.
5. Re-type the password.
To verify the Windows account, follow these steps:
1. From the Windows domain, verify that the account is enabled, is not locked out, is not
expired, and is not configured to use the User must change password at next logon
setting.
2. Re-type the password.
