SparkleFlow is the acclaimed packaging solution that combines all aspects of a software packaging project into a single interface. Preparing an application migration? Need to reduce your TCO? Need to manage lots of applications? Want to setup your applications right now and not waste to much of your value time? SparkleFlow Package Management offers the complete solution for creating structure in your packaging project.
On this page, we will highlight the differences between the various versions of SparkleFlow. For a description of the main functions of SparkleFlow please check out the Learn More section of this website or download the User Guide.
With Discovery, Package, Deployment and Test as phases of the software-packaging project, the major differences in each individual SparkleFlow products can be found in the Package phase. This is the part of SparkleFlow where most interaction with the packaging or sequencing applications takes place.
As with all other software packaging applications, SparkleFlow offers a seamless integration with SoftGrid. Sequencing steps are pre-programmed: with just a simple click, SoftGrid is started with all necessary parameters to do the job it is required to do. Whether you want to create a sequence, edit a sequence or OSD, upgrade a sequence, test your bubble with a test server or run a deployment check on the live SoftGrid server, it's all just a click away. You want to reject the project and have it re-discovered? Would you like to add comments and a screenshot illustrating why a certain decision is made? It is all just a click away.
Let's take a closer look at the options that SparkleFlow offers when sequencing with SoftGrid:
Create sequenceSparkleFlow starts the SoftGrid Sequencer, enabling you to create your sequence. After closing the Sequencer and saving your bubble to the PackagePath, you return to SparkleFlow. |
|
Edit sequenceSparkleFlow starts the SoftGrid Sequencer. If only one single .SPRJ file is found in the PackagePath, SoftGrid will be opened with this .SPRJ file. If multiple .SPRJ files are found in the PackagePath, a selection list will be presented. SoftGrid will open with the selected .SPRJ file. |
|
Edit OSDIf only a single .OSD file is found in the PackagePath, this .OSD file will be opened with Notepad. If multiple .OSD files are found in the PackagePath, a selection list will be presented. The selected file will be opened with Notepad. |
|
Upgrade sequenceAfter checking if this project already exists, SparkleFlow starts the SoftGrid Sequencer, enabling you to upgrade your sequence. After closing the Sequencer and saving your bubble to the PackagePath, you return to SparkleFlow. |
|
Test sequenceTo primarily test deployment and functionality of your sequence, you will have to create a test environment with a test server to deploy SoftGrid sequences. The deployment of a sequence has to be arranged before you can test functionality of the sequence. The action flow in SparkleFlow guides you through this concept. |
